Her primary interests and vision as a creator lie at the intersection of computational technologies and artistic expression. This has lead her to pursue a design practice within the realms of data visualization, 3d design, and creative coding.
McCaffrey’s visualization style can be described as abstract and metaphorical. She believes in the bridging of the scientific pursuit of
data visualization with both art and design. Her subject matter primarily revolves around the natural world, climate change advocacy, and the human condition.
Most recently she has worked as a Data Visualization Specialist for the MIT Senseable City Lab, and now continues to develop her personal design practice and research as student at Northeastern University.
Her data visualization Displacement Flowers will be exhibited at the IEEE VIS Arts Exhibition in St. Pete Beach, Florida from October 13-18 2024
